The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested over 147 people in Bamaina town the home town of former governor Sule Lamido with guns and dangerous weapon trying to bring political crises in Bamaina or create abnormal peace in the area.
The police public relation officer SP Audu Jinjiri said the gathering which took place in Bamaina was an unlawful gathering because the police were not informed about the gathering and that Bamaina area Gwaram is a security threat area where kidnappers disturb people.
According to the PPRO of the command, he said the weapons got from over 147 persons arrested include sticks, machetes, bows, arrows and guns that contain six bullets as well as hunters’ guns and swords.
The police public relation Officer SP Audu Jinjiri further stated that all the 147 suspects were detained and will soon be paraded before Dutse Magistrate Court for the offense they committed.
During the recent gathering held in Bamaina none of the PDP executives were able to attend the gathering, a situation which indicates that that none of the party stalwart is with the former governor and it is also a signal that the supporters are with Malam Tijjani Gaya former member representing Kiyawa Dutse.
It was reliably gathered that Malam Aminu Ringim and former governor Lamido hasy lost control of PDP in Jigawa.
The police public relation officer stated that they took all the suspects to chief magistrate court.
It was reliably gathered that Lamido is seriously worried over the arrest of his members who stormed Bamaina town at the last political meeting which he planned to hold at his house in Bamana with a view of selling his political mission to Nigerian youths for his 2019 presidential ambition.
