Why Plateau Ex Deputy Speaker Gagdi Should Be Recalled Back -Shem Damisa

The Concerned Elders Forum of Kantana Constituency of Kanam Local Government Council has stated their reasons why the want the former Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi alias Babayo recalled as their member from the State House of Assembly adding they have lost confidence in him as an elected member of the 8^th Assembly.

Spokesman of the group, Hon Shem Yaute Damisa in an interview with our reporter at his residence in Rayfield, he bared his minds on numerous crisis rocking the APC in Kanam LGA to Babayo allegations of fraudsters, 419, dubious activities and his political betrayal to the people of his constituents.

He said the Kantana constituency gave him their four years mandate to deliver dividends of democracy which to them, they were highly disappointed and dissatisfied to the abuse of not following the zoning arrangement they have been practicing for the over years and building of confidence amongst the Jhar and our Boggwom brothers whom they enjoyed.

Damisa expressed displeasure that the wards Congresses in Kanam witnessed by Yusuf Adamu Gagdi; “left us the stakeholders to write to the APC state exco telling them that nothing was done to called us and address our grievances yet none of the people complained because we appealed to our teeming supporters for the interest of the party and our respect for Governor Simon Lalong that we should all kept quiet.

However, he stressed that under the present government of APC the Local Government Chairman is from Boggwom, Candidate for chairmanship same and other positions too, as he said; “so Gagdi is fighting us and also plotting to continue to cause conflict between us so the decision we all took is to recall and allow the exercise to be free and fair to all and sundry.

The Jhar nation lost many positions to his over ambition, the adoption of candidates and delegates election for national convention most of us who are founding fathers of APC in Kanam LGA are denied ticket owing to his interest to rubbish.

Meanwhile, while speaking, the ex- Deputy Speaker also warned that politicians in Kantana constituency are yet to brace themselves with the Electoral guidelines of the Independent Electoral Commission on writing to demand for the 2015 election materials for recall process.

He condemned the exercise of using political traitors to foment trouble in Kanam LGA ,saying most o those pursuing him are acting blindly without them knowing the democratic tenet as they are just jumping into confusion to misled the electorates.

Meanwhile, speaking, former UBA Branch Manager and Former Accountant General to the Former Governor Joshua Dariye has described the defection of the former Deputy Speaker ,Rt Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi alias Babayo to the All Progressive Congress, APC , as a move to protect his seat and to remain relevant in the state .

He said ,he came to APC to protect his seat with all the atrocities he committed, adding that the former Deputy Speaker was not safe in People Democratic Party and nobody was ready to accommodate him any longer but we all promised him in APC there will be no place for him to commit his wrongs.

“Since you were voted into power in 2015 you have abandoned your constituency and there is no single project linked to as member representing Kantana people so the voice of our people must be heard.

“In all the 8 wards of Kantana constituency we have commenced the process of collection of signatures in December, 2017 we are now in 2018 as a member representing Kantana your not aware of all the moves meaning your enjoy the constituency allowances alone.

According to him, the recall process of Ex -Deputy Speaker started with the signing and collection of at wards level but I don’t know whether he was still sleeping and he is going about spoiling the Jhar people name so we are tired of tolerating someone embarrassing us because if one tribe is holding an executive position the next position automatically goes to another tribe.

We are pleading that if urgent step is not be taken before 2019 general elections PDP may likely clinch Kanam LGA  by capitalizing on the error to win.
