Who is Doctor Hassan Gimba Ahmed?

Dr. Hassan Gimba Ahmed is a renowned Nigerian journalist, writer, public commentator, and media consultant. Born on April 9, 1964, in Kaduna, Nigeria, he serves as the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Neptune Prime, an online newspaper that offers content in both English and Hausa. Dr. Gimba’s impressive career includes stints as an editor at Leadership Friday Newspaper, Assistant Managing Editor of Leadership Newspaper, and spokesperson for Nigeria’s Minister of Science and Technology.
Dr. Gimba has written over 500 articles and published two volumes of his book, “The Arbiter,” a collection of essays.

He also received a series of Awards from different Organisations, where he received;
– Award of excellence from Zuma Times in 2021 for his contributions to journalism.
– Charitable Personality Award in 2020, Arewa Students Forum Award (ASF) as an Icon of Community development 2023.
– Intellectual Elites – Youths Association of Nigeria Award as Most Performing Journalist of the year 2021.
– African American University of Nigeria Award 2020 where he was awarded with a Doctor of philosophy Degree (PHD) Honoris Causa in Creative Writing and Journalism in November, 2020.
– Ebony Herald International Magazine as a Member of the Editorial board in October, 2021.
– Sir Ahmadu Bello Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (ABYCN) Award of excellence as Icon of Integrity and Humanitarian Service of the year 2021.

Dr. Gimba founded the Lami Fatima Babare Cervical Cancer Foundation and Clinic in Potiskum, Yobe State, to raise awareness and provide free treatment for cervical cancer to at-risk women. His foundation also supports vocational training programs and constructed the Hafsatu Gimba Ahmed Memorial School in Potiskum, providing modern educational facilities.
Dr. Gimba is a regular columnist for Blueprint Newspaper and other online platforms, focusing on politics, good governance, and security issues in northern Nigeria. His thought-provoking articles have sparked discussions on various topics, including.
