Bauchi State 7th Assembly members have threatens court action against the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi state.

This was just as it gave the SA seven days ultimatum to retract his statement  that the previous state assembly approved N4 billion loan facility to the current administration of Abubakar under APC before their exit immediately or face court action.

The lawmakers also urge the governor’s spokesman to use the same medium which he used to disseminate the information that the approved the loan to retract  his statement which he granted to the media in that regard.

The former member representing Ningi constituency Abdulmumini Hassan Ningi who gave the warning in a chat with selected Journalists in Bauchi said, the immediate lawmakers had no link and political romance that warrant it to approve such loan to the current Governor

” We had our valedictory session almost a week before the inauguration of the APC administration, then how do we approve such N4 billion loan to the governor who came in to power 29th May when the ex-lawmakers had ceased to function as lawmakers immediately after its valedictory session” said Hassan.

Hassan described the statement attributed to the 7th assembly as not only an indictment but an abortion of the truth, apparently to divert people attention from the empty promises of the APC change mantra.

According to Hassan, the 31 former   assembly members will not allow the APC to give them bad name nor succumb to any pressure while describing same as a calculated attempt to deceive the electorates, it urge the government not to economical with the truth, but be guided by good conscience.

Hassan charge the governor’s spokesman not to hesitate in tendering the evidence backing his statement that the former lawmakers approved the N4 billion so as to exonerate himself.

Ask whether he was talking on behalf of the former 31 members, Hassan admitted that he has their support to defend and pursue the matter to logical conclusion.

It could be recalled that recently an anti-corruption group,  Bauchi Coalition Against Financial Crime and Injustice had petition the 8th assembly to investigate and subsequently  impeached governor Abubakar of Bauchi state on allegation of financial crimes thereby urging the anti-graft agencies to zoom their search light into the governor’s affairs.

The coalition sought an explanation into what the government has done with the bailout fund where they said Abubakar had described earlier as a mirage including the N4 billion loan facilities he collected without the approval of the state assembly and the executive council approval, as there is no executive council in place in the state.
