No fewer than Five persons from Ayile district of Loko community of Nasarawa Local Government of Nasarawa state has been confirmed dead over an outbreak of waterborne disease.
It was disclosed that no fewer than 18 persons were also hospitalized in Ayile community ,a few kilometers away from the Council headquarters of the Nasarawa Local Government.
The affected persons according to unconfirmed report died after complaining of stomach ache after they drank water from the river which has remained the only source of drinking water to the community.
An Investigation by this medium unraveled that the victims of the water born disease solely relied on drinking water from river Benue-Niger which flow through the community as a source of drinking water.
As at press time the state Government is yet to bring succor to the affected community which it was learnt has four non-functional boreholes.
