Wase Local Government Area of Plateau state has sufficient mineral deposits and   agricultural farmland to create employment opportunity for the benefit of Plateau teeming populace, the management committee Chairman, Dr Abubakar Buba disclosed this in an exclusive interactive session with some Journalists in Jos.

He said, after the crisis that broke up in Wase in 1998, the council is working hard to ensure that people go back to their communities where they were displaced from.

“We initiated peace management committee cut across all the ethnic nationalities, between Christian Muslim and traditional worshipers, we are able to achieve fragile peace and our markets are gradually picking up now “.

Dr Buba explained that the council was confronted with numerous challenges of insecurity, lack of teachers and huge debts of liability left by the immediate past government.

According to him, the dwindling global oil price has crippled the entire country income generation so the situation is affecting everyone and Wase LG is one of the biggest council that need the assistant of state and federal government because of the local government which is agrarian nature that need feeder roads linking most of the districts.

He expressed confidence that, state government should construct road from Wase to Kadarko through Wadata to Langtang south, Wase to Mavo ,Filnom and Gimbi another federal road Wase linking Nasarawa to safiyo respectively. ,

Buba lamented that Jang administration left over 786 million debt to the council so a committee was setup to look into it and forward on how to review and address the situation.

“I promise to consider projects that have direct impact to the people especially the primary health care sector which equipments are obsolete with no single staffs and cobwebs cover everywhere in most offices.

The council boss stressed that the dwindling revenue generation affected the urgent need of government to embark on people oriented project of rehabilitation of roads through direct Labour.

We manage to pay workers salary and allowances up to date but the only problem is the three years leave grant hoping to complete them all,he added.

Dr Buba vowed that he need to lay solid foundation for rural health care system by improving and introducing new cottage hospitals in all the districts which is  large burden.

He reiterated that most of the existing cottage hospitals will be given attention, pointing that   Late Solomon Daushep Lar built cottage hospitals  in 1980 and the facility are obsoletes .

Dr Buba added that Wase LG needs a lot of roads and qualitative education to improve manpower development of the area.
