Warri-Itakpe Train Service Suspended

Train Services along the Warri Itakpe rail corridor have been suspended.

In a statement by the Co-ordinator of the Service, Mr Sanni Abdulganiyu, this is due to a derailment that occurred at km 30 of the corridor today.

The statement categorically says there were neither fatalities nor injuries, as men of the Police Force, NSCDC, and community vigilante were drafted to evacuate the 148 passengers and 30 crew member.

It further states that arrangements were made to take passengers to their destinations.

The statement adds that the cause of the derailment is yet to be ascertained and resumption of the service will be announced in due course after repair and maintenance is completed.
