Update And Full Detail Of How Plateau Speaker, Peter Azi, Majority Leader Was Impeached By 2/3 Majority

The Plateau State House of Assembly on Wednesday 11th July, 2018 impeached Speaker Hon Peter Ajang Azi by the 2/3 majority of the members of the eight assembly also impeached is the majority leader of the House Hon Henry Yenkeap who is a member representing Shendam constituency.
The Rt Hon Speaker Azi who is a member representing Jos North West at the State House of Assembly was replaced by a new Speaker Joshua Madaki, who is the member representing Jos East.
The new Speaker ,Rt Hon Joshua Madaki enjoys an overwhelming support of the 2/3 members who are tired of the leadership of Hon Peter Azi whom they considers as a rubber stamp to the Governor Simon Bako Lalong.
According to the members ,immediately after calling for an adjournment by Hon Peter Gyendyeng Eho who moved the motion for the seating to be adjourned citing section 92 sub section 2 where the 2/3 of the members then passed a vote of no confidence on the leadership of Hon Peter Azi and was seconded by Abdul Yanga.
The former Deputy Speaker ,Rt Hon Yusuf Adamu Babayo Gagdi nominated the Member representing Jos East Constituency while 12members out of the 17 of the All Progressive Congress (APC ) House members also passed a vote of no confidence on the Majority leader ,Hon Henry Yenkeap to be impeached.
The Members swiftly nominated Hon Naanlong Daniel as the Majority leader who is a member representing Mikang constituency in the State House of Assembly .
However former Deputy Speaker Hon Ibrahim Baba-Hassan commented that they are not holding grudges against any member but just a new change of legislative affairs which he said is a normal process.
He called on the state to consider the exercise as duty of members to effect change in leadership whenever and where is necessary.
