Ukraine-Russian Conflict: Putin’s Final  Game of Death

The seven months old Russian-Ukraine conflict has today assumed a more dangerous  turn following  the annexation  of Ukraine’s  four regions in a sham referenda.

In a blatant violation of International Law, Putin announced the annexation of occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, which has continued to draw condemnation and criticisms worldwide.

Quite frankly, this, according to observers   and military  analysts, remains the largest forcible annexation of land in Europe in living  memory since the end of World War2.

However, this act of aggression clearly eviscerates the principle of territorial  integrity and must be condemned  by all lovers of freedom.

Ukraine and its people reserve the right to exist if you ask me and should not succumb to the diabolic  Whims and  Caprices of  a  soulless tyrant and overlord who amid other threats  has made nuclear  saber-rattling  his stock-in-trade.

 It is high time he was reminded that many other  countries around the world are also nuclear-armed. The US has consistently  and repeatedly   warned that any use of tactical  nuclear weapons by Russia  against the  Ukrainian  people would be met with decisive response.

The world cannot continue like this with the ancient sword of  Damocles  hanging loosely over our heads. Time to keep a tight rein on Putin is now or we shall all find ourselves in dishonourable graves, if I may borrow a hackneyed quotation from  Shakespeare.

However, all I crave is a world without weapons and violence.
