Two Bomb Explosion Near ECWA Church In Jos Averted, As No Life Was Lost

An explosion has occurred at a church in Jos where nobody died, the said explosion occurred around 9:15am.

The explosion occurred at the Evangelical Church of Winning All (ECWA) church in Tudun Wada, Angwan Yashi, near the Federal Secretariat in Jos, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau on Sunday.

The Sunday explosion in Tudun Wada suburb of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state caused pandemonium as Christian worshipers were having church service when a bomb planted near the exploded as no one was hurt.

Our correspondent gathered seven days after the last bomb blast that killed 52 people and several hospitalized, security agencies had continue battle with activities of men of the underworld.

However, the two religions in Plateau have both condemned the bomb explosion in the state by appealing to security agencies to rise up and defence innocent civilian.

The spokesman of the Special Task Force, Captain Ikedichi Iweha has confirmed that it was a twin explosive device that was discovered within the church.

Iweha said the first explosive was found inside the church toilet when one of the church member went in to defecate and found it laying and raised alarm that attracted the members of the congregation who called security men to the scene.

However, he added that the second device was found buried inside the church premises which was recover by the anti-bomb squad who cordoned the area and discovered the it .

The STF spokesman appealed to residents of Plateau state not to take law in their hand or embark on reprisal attacks that will lead to loss of lives.

The Plateau State Police Command spokesman, DSP, Emmanuel Abuh who also confirmed the incident to our correspondent said no life was lost.

Abuh warned the perpetrators to stay away from anything that is capable of bridging the peace of the state.

He advised residents to report any suspicious movement to the nearest police station adding that criminals have no hiding place in the state.
