Tragedy: Family Of 6 Died In A Fire Accident In Jos By Yakubu Busari, Jos

The Plateau State Police Command today confirmed the death of six family members as a result of fire inferno that torched a two storey building.
The PPRO Abuh Emmanuel, who disclosed this in an interview, said that the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday at the Tafawa Balewa Street when the building was engulfed by fire killing the family destroying lives and properties worth million naira.
He explained that immediately after receiving a distress calls from the Area, The command mobilize fire service men and joint security forces to the scene and brought the fire under control.
According to him, after confirming that six people were death, their corpses had been deposited in the mortuary but added that the command cannot ascertain the level of damage done as a result of the inferno.
The Family of six people died in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state as a result of Fire inferno when a storey building was engulfed with fire in Jos were still sleeping.
The fire was said to have started at about 2 am shortly after power supply was restored to the area following an outage.
The victims – a woman, her three children, who are between the ages of one and six years; her sister and maid – were believed to have been suffocated by the smoke of the inferno while they were fast asleep.

Residents of the area believed that the fire might have started from an electric surge and likely to have been aided by a gas cylinder, which exploded after the fire started.
