Tinubu Reelection Advocate Group: Commends His Milestone, Solicit  Extension Of  Acting VC’s Tenure Of   UNIABUJA

A group under the aegis of  President  Tinubu reelection advocate in 2027 has commended his milestone achievements in the last two years in office by seeking the attention of the federal government to extend the tenure of Patricia Lar, the acting vice-chancellor of the Yakubu Gowon  University, Abuja.

The group stated after a stakeholders meeting held at Maria Hotel, Abuja, on Friday, signed by Mohammed Idris Mohammed

National Coordinator and  Hon. Praise Nnena chukwudi, Secretary General, made available to journalists in Jos .

The National Coordinator,Mohammed Idris Mohamme,d said the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform policy of Renew Hope Agenda is yielding positive results in all facets of the economy.

He stated that the achievements recorded have attracted them to seek his reelection bid, as they also pass a vote of confidence on the leadership.

Mohammed disclosed that the group achieved many achievements, including the appointment of the acting vice-chancellor, which stabilised the current internal crises of the university since her appointment in February.

The group described her emergence as a “rescue mission” following the removal of Aisha Maikudi, the former VC, on February 6.

They praised President Bola Tinubu for intervening and commended Tunji Alausa, minister of education, and Olanrewaju Tejuosho, the university’s pro-chancellor, for their support for Lar.

According to the group, Lar has ended staff victimisation, resumed dialogue with unions and student bodies, and addressed issues like stalled promotions and infrastructure decay.

They described her leadership style as “humane and inclusive”, noting that the acting VC’s approach to governance has brought calm to the campus.

Mohammed reiterated that  her mandate is for six months, they want it extended to allow for the completion of ongoing reforms.

The group also called for the urgent constitution of a new governing council and a visitation panel to investigate alleged illegal recruitments and financial misconduct under the previous administration.
