Three students of the University of Jos are feared dead while 2 others have been declared missing following the skirmishes that broke out after some commuters were attacked and killed along Rukuba road on Saturday.

It was gathered that 5 other students are presently receiving treatment in a hospital in the State capital as a result of injuries sustained during the attack on innocent and defenseless students in their hostel.

Comrade Jeremiah Matthew Dalong , Chairman National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) University of Jos chapter in an interview with newsmen in Jos on Tuesday, called on the Plateau State, Federal Government and the Management of the University of Jos to as a matter of urgency send food items to stranded students in the hostels.

He added that possibly, the government and the university authority should make arrangements to evacuate them to go home to meet their parents for the time being pending when the security challenges in Jos will be over before they return to complete their second Semester examination..

According to him, 2 of their students have been declared missing stressing that they have not been seen since the crisis broke out in Jos the Plateau State capital last weekend..

He further lamented that hundreds of students are stranded in their various hostels at the permanent site of the university because of the 24hours curfew imposed on Jos North LGA by the Plateau State Government.

” The students have no food as the foodstuff at the gallery has been exhausted, the food vendors to have disappeared. Even if you have money, there is nowhere you can see food to buy as the little you see, the prize has been hiked beyond what the students can afford” the student Union leader lamented.
