Three Poachers Convicted Six Months In Shendam Local Government

Going by the recent mayhem in Plateau state southern senatorial district that led  to the death of thousands and properties destroyed .
Three Fulani herdsmen have been convicted for cattle rustling by Shendam chief Magistrate court on the 9th September,2013 for cattle theft.
The poachers Mr Adamu Usman and Haruna Jika were earlier arranged following the conspiracy and theft while the third accused Saidu Shehu was fingers for abetment.
The prosecution officer ,Inspector Bawa Gotan informed the court that the accused person was arrested for cow theft and was brought before the DPO shendam police station on the 15th August,2013 at about 10:43hours .
He explained further that since the  accused person  have accepted committing the act ,the court reduce the period of his offence .
However, when the charges were read in court the accused pleaded guilty of committing the offense and appealed justice and mercy in the judgment.
Justice Peter Binjing of the chief magistrate court in his judgment read before the honourable court sentenced Adamu Usman and Haruna Jika  to six (6) months jail tempt with the funds options of ,N3,000.00 meanwhile, the third accused Saidu Shehu bagged three calendar months and N2,000.00 for abetment of the crime to serve as deterrent to other.
The chief magistrate court judge ordered that the recovered cattle should be released back to the owner Mr Nanbol Nanbak of Zamwai village of Yelwa in shendam applauded the court .
In a peace parlay held in shendam stadium the others tribes  fingered Taroh to be behind the stealing of cattle in the zone but he thank the police for coming to their rescue
He commended the quick response of neighborhood watch in rescue of his animals with the support of security personnel.
