The Unconditional Release Of Barr. Ugochinyere: We Commend The Judiciary For Upholding The Rule Of Law-Group

We the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), the umbrella body of all the youth organizations in the South East zone commend the judiciary and the Abuja Federal High Court presided by Justice Othman Musa for standing on the path of justice. The unconditional release of the spokesman of the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, Barr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere by the court is a landmark achievement for the nation’s democracy.

The judiciary has again prove itself strong in the protection of democracy and the rule of law in the country. The court order granting the unconditional release of the spokesman of the CUPP is a testimony that the judiciary has remained fair in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.

We appreciate the judiciary for their moral and professional courage to uphold justice. Ugochinyere’s release is a victory for decency, for patriotism and respect for the rule of law. They judiciary have proved that , there are the survival of our democracy and the last hope of the common man.

We call on Nigerians not to lose hope in the judiciary no matter the level of attacks on judiciary officers from some powerful quarters.

No matter the level of intimidation by some powerful forces,  there are resilient judiciary officers who would always enthrone the rule of law in the country.

The unconditional release of Ugochinyere is a clear testament that light will always prevail over darkness.

We urge the CUPP spokesman not to be deterred by his recent ugly experience as these are one of the sacrifice of defending the principles of democracy. We encourage him to continue in his determination to defend the good people of Nigeria who have been bartered tyranny and dictatorship.
