The Federal University of Dutse in Jigawa State is set to establish an FM Radio station with the intention to enlighten the communities surrounding it.
This was announced by Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Muhammed the Vice-Chancellor of the university in a press conference organized by the university today.
Abdulkarim stated that the equipment is already been installed, they are now waiting for the license for the commencement of daily programs.
He added that their Radio station will cover extension service for the benefits of the university and people around the university.
Abdulkarim explained that they have collaborated with the management of Radio Jigawa to train the staff on the various programme .
Professor Abdulkarim stated that arrangement has been made for communication programme in the university with an intension to boosting the study of communication in the school.
In the area of health, the VC said a team of professionals from the Federal Ministry of Health Abuja is on their way to visit the Rashed Shikoni Hospital for final evaluation.
He said that the team will also assess the facilities of the hospital and recommend when the hospital will be in full capacity as a teaching hospital.
In the area of the remedial study center, he said more remedial centres would be opened at the state capital Dutse, as he confirmed that the management of the university has approached the Jigawa state government to lease out the old governor lodge to be used as a Remedial centre in Dutse.
