Tension Mounts In Bauchi Over Emir of Missau’s Successor; As Youths Are Ready For A Showdown

Palpable fear and tension is said to be brewing in Misau Local government area of Bauchi state following the proposed appointment of new Emir of Misau barely few days after the death of the late Emir Alhaji  Muhammadu Manga III

This was just as irate youths have threatens to proceed on a street showdown over who succeed the late Emir in their demand to appoint the eldest son of the late monarch.

Residents said, about 10 are on the race seeking to succeed late Manga including the secretary to the state government Alhaji Ahmed  Suleiman  Misau who sources said he may be enjoying the support of Governor Abubakar

It was gathered that the youths have since blocked major streets of Misau in their quest for justice in support of the late Emir’s son Alhaji Ahed Mohammed Manga.

Palace guards confided that due process must be taken to ensure the appointment of the immediate family of the late Emir in line with the traditional norms and value and customs of the area.

The youth leader of the area who craved for anonymity had threatened government interference in the replacement of the late Emir and against political interest

This medium learnt that already the area is under the vigilance of security  to arrest any eventuality and possible breakdown of law and orders

The governor’s press secretary Mallam Ibrahim  Sani Wajes told newsmen that government has not made its position known over who to appointment.

He urges residents to remain calm with a view to ensure peace and unity in the process of Misau Emir.
