Tension Looms In Plateau Over PDP Governorship Primaries By Yakubu Busari,’Jos ,

Crisis looms as tension still mounts in Plateau State PDP primaries over the numbering of ballot boxes by the Chairman Electoral committee Chairman in the state.

The sixteen 16 governorship aspirants in Plateau state  have  complained that the  labels of local Government should be remove and delegates list be make known to the general public.

The aspirants also decried of conflicting figures on the names of those delegates who have voting power to commence the exercise proper.

They lamented that the unnecessary delay and none accreditation of delegates in time had indicated that irregularities will be done in the conduct.

Sen. GNS PWAJOK said” why should they begin to create a room when the game has not started”

He said the electoral chairman has the right to dictate the rules of the game but expressed shock that the other contestants are been mischievous to cause problem.

This medium gathered that the deputy Governor hon. Ignatius Longjan who is also a contestant solicited the cooperation of the electoral officers for smooth voting exercise.

He observed that the rules of the electoral process are follow so that the 16 aspirants can have free and fair exercise.

However, most complains was that some local governments have more delegates which are not in accordance with tenets of democratic rules.

They were quick raised concern over the numbers of the ballot boxes in Local Government labels which will cause confusion.

Victor Lar, Amb. Fedelis Tapgun, John Alkali all raised alarm on the development which didn’t go down well with most of the contestants.

It was a mild drama senator Victor Lar and former Governor of plateau state Amb. Fidelis Tapgun led 16 aspirants to lodged complaints requesting the chairman of the Electoral committee announced change on the issue mention.

The uprising on the removal of the labels placed on local government was immediately removed and the ballot boxes were left without any labels.

The chairman of electoral committee Abdullahi Ohioma pleaded for understanding amongst the aspirants and 818 delegates have set to commence the voting exercise.
