Ten Farmers Killed In A Renewed Attack In Benue State

Ten farmers were killed by Fulani Herdsmen, who ambushed them, the renewed hostility happened in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
The attack happened just three days when similar attack was launched on a commercial bus which carrying about 13 passengers from Gbajimba, headquarters of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State as the attackers killed nine passengers.
Following the Tuesday attack many people are still missing as even farmlands were destroyed, the residents of the area have called for intervention from the state and federal governments in the matter to avert hunger as the attacks have been targeted at farmers engaged in full scale farming activities.
While speaking to newsmen the member representing Guma/Makurdi Federal Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Jime, expressed discontentment with the recurring insecurity in his constituency and the unwarranted killings and destruction of property.
Adding further he said that the National Assembly would have to take urgent steps to check the recurrent bloodbath being let loose in parts of Tiv land by Fulani invaders.
Meanwhile the Benue State Police public relations officer, Daniel  Ezeala,said the command had not received information on any fresh attack in the state.
