Taxpayers Money Not For Inconsequential Projects-Nasarawa PDP Chairman Tells Al-Makura

Nasarawa state chairmam of the opposition political party, the People’s Democratic Party has told governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to forget the execution of inconsequential projects, Hon.Francis Orogu disclosed this in an interview with selected Journalists in the state.

The chairman accused the state government under the headship of Umaru Tanko Al-Makura as a comatose state, saying everything belonging to the state has gone down the drain in the name of change.

Hon. Orogu asserted that workers in Nasarawa state has turn to orphans leaving from hands to mouth, expressing displeasure with the quandary the civil servants are passing through.

“Workers in Nasarawa state for your own knowledge owe four months’ salary from August, November, February and April salary”.

“Workers can no longer pay their children school fees; they cannot pay their house rent or hospital bill”.

Hon.Orogu accused the state governor for embarking on frivolous foreign trip without any state benefit.

“How many times did Al-Makura travelled out of the state, calling on the Nasarawa State House of Assembly to probe the state governor over frequent foreign voyage”.

Adding that labour leaders in the state should wake up from their slumber as they know what comes to Nasarawa state.

Speaking on the state of local governments in the state, the PDP chairman described the third tier of government as a rubber stamp under Governor Umaru Al-Makura.

Commenting on the directive of the state head of service, Joseph Ogiri threatening workers over the ongoing to resume working or facing government wrath, the chairman described the announcement as empty threat to civil servants.

“The head of service was once the chairman of negotiating council and nobody ever threatens him for going on strike, said Hon.Francis Orogu.

The state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Philip Tatari Shekwor and the state commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism would not be reach for comment as at press time.
