Tackle Issues Of Insecurity In Toto Local Government Area Now- Stakeholders Tells Gov Sule

With the presence of bandits in Toto forest, Critical stakeholders in the locality have appealed to the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule to draft more additional security operatives to the surrounding forest to checkmate activities of men of the underworld.

 

 

 

 

The stakeholders made this known during the first town hall meeting organized by the Nasarawa State Government, under the leadership of Engineer Abdullahi Sule, as part of activities marking the second anniversary of the administration, which was held at the Toto LG secretariat, on Wednesday.

 

 

 

 

During the interactive session, The  people of the Toto Local Government  make a case for the establishment of a tertiary institution in the area,

 

 

 

 

Other stakeholders pleaded with the Governor to provide potable drinking water to the people of the council, as well as the elevation of the stool of the Ohinoyi Ogye from second class to the first-class status.

 

 

 

 

The Toto Local Government Council Chairman, Hon Nuhu Adamu Dauda thanked the Governor for the visit, adding that Engineer Abdullahi has written his name in the sands of time.

 

 

 

 

The Chairman highlighted some of the developmental projects initiated in the Council by the Engineer Sule administration to include drafting a squadron of the police mobile force, establishing a permanent military super camp in Kenyehu, which saw to the dislodging of bandits operating in the area, a divisional police headquarters was also established in Umuaisha.

 

Also, the chairman listed the influence of the siting of the Azman Rice and Mills Limited, the Nigeria Flour Mills and Dangote Sugar Refinery, to Umuaisha, as well as the installation of the flood early warning system in Umuaisha, among others.

 

 

 

 

Hon. Dauda revealed that most of the military camps are in dire need of things drew the attention of the governor on the challenges being faced by the military camp in Utu, which he said.

 

 

 

 

“The situation requires urgent Government in most of the military camps in Toto Local Government Council”,

 

 

 

 

“The efforts of Engineer Abdullahi Sule’s administration to restore peace in the area, since bandits invaded the communities and made life almost unbearable for the people living along the Umuaisha/Toto/Gadabuke/Karmo axis,”.

 

 

 

 

The Governor in his speech said security is a responsibility of all, urging the people to continue to divulge useful information to the security agencies to assist them in the effective discharge of their responsibilities.

 

 

 

 

The Governor highlighted the achievements so far recorded by his administration, which saw the jerking up of the budget for education to over 30 percent of the total budget of the state, making Nasarawa State one of the states with the highest budgetary allocation for education.

 

 

 

 

He explained that the reason for this was to enable his administration to turn around education at both the primary and secondary school level, aimed at giving functional and effective education to the generation yet unborn.
