Suspected Lassa Fever Victim Dies In DASH–Acting Chairman Lassa Fever Response Team DASH

Consultant Cardiologist Isa Oboirren has confirmed the death of suspected victim of Lassa Fever in Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital.Lafia.

 

In an interview confided that the suspected victim whom he said was eighteen years old was tested negative before he died.

 

“The result shown that the suspected victim was negative before he died”.

 

He said the hospital has make all necessary arrangements in times of kits,tablets and sanitizers for doctors.

 

Dr. Isa was reacting  over an eyebrow raised by some doctors complaining of lack of sanitizers in the tertiary health facility.

 

Appealing to people to avoid traveling to states with cases of Lassa fever as the only alternative to leave safely.

 

Urging people to avoid poor sanitation,cover foodstuff at all times as well avoid skin contact with rat  and always wash hands with soap and water.

 

Dr.Isa warned people to avoid wrapping beans cake and suya on old newspapers infested with urine.

 

It would be recalled that the commissioner of health,Pharmacist,Ahmed Baba Yahaya has confirmed that there were suspected cases in Karu and Lafia Local Governments.

 

He added that two persons were quarantine.
