Our great party sees the notice of Impeachment served on Governor Martins Elechi of Ebonyi State today in an ‘injury time’ occasioned by an unjustifiably postponed elections as one more step in the deliberate piecemeal disorganization of the South East by the present PDP-controlled Federal Government, following the avowed refusal of Ndigbo at home and abroad to succumb to a purchased endorsement.
Our party has analyzed the first-hand information received from Ebonyi on the latest assault being perpetrated by President through the Secretary to the Federal Government, Mr Pius Anyim Pius against the future of Ndigbo and sees the issues involved as transcending partisan issues into the collective assault of Igbo nationalism.
The action only adds to the willful fragmentation of the PDP in Anambra State by the Jonathan Presidency which funds eight candidates for three senate seats in order to keep the Igbo membership of the PDP in disarray, while undeserved just votes are being pursued with money for the re-enactment of a failed presidency.
We note that this deliberate ploy to keep the electorate confused in order to repeat the confusion witnessed in Anambra State during the governorship elections in November 2013 has no gone unnoticed by the voters in the state ,now determined to vote out all candidates of PDP and their national leader, from their future.
It is our considered views that such political convenient steps which nonetheless leave deep wounds in the hearts of Igbo brothers against their own should be put in check now by the President Jonathan along with all his Igbo advisers of face the image of the South East.
We do not care if Elechi belongs to PDP. All we care about now is that he is a governor in South East of Nigeria and that the issues leading to the fast-forwarded impeachment are extraneous to the politics of the state and traceable to the presidency.
We do not care if President Jonathan wants to ram 1000 politicians with money to compromise elections in Anambra State. Our concern is that those who seek to lead our nation should not destabilize the nation in whole pr part.
We do not care if the whole world is reported to endorse any presidential candidate. Ll we are concerned about is that the future of Ndigbo is too important to be purchased in the hands of a small Ohaneze clique whose who are now silent in the face of he travesties in Ebonyi State and Anambra State before it.
We call on Dr Alex Ekwueme, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Mr. Peter Obi, Chief Arthur Eze, Mr Ifeanyi Ubah, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Chief Pius Anyim, Chief Olisa Metuh, Chief Joe Nworgu and Chief Enwo Igariwey of Ohaneze and Ohaneze itself to speak up on the piecemeal disorganization of the South East in the peak of elections or forever remain silent on the affairs of South East Nigeria.
If any governor in Nigeria today requires express federal -assisted impeachment today it should be Gov Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State for rigging his way into power and for evidenced offences against National Security and democracy.
Ndigbo cannot continue to be toys in the hand of the Jonathan Presidency who must be destabilized at convenience for political stratagems.
