Sir, Sequel to our recent Open Letter to your exalted office over the ongoing Polarization of the National body of the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA), an umbrella body of all Students at home and in Diaspora by Kasim Muhammad Kasim, the Special Assistant on Student matters. This action of Kasim’s and his co-traveller has brought embarrassment to the collective and intellectual organisation of the Students body both at home and in Diaspora.

Having waited so long for our humble request, to be granted in order not to take the law into hand as the Concerned Former Student Leaders in collaboration with the authentic Students in the State and beyond presented in our open letter to you that was published by an online news and prints media such as abusidiqu.com, thescoopng.com, elombah.com, 247nigerianewsupdate.com, newsrescue.com africaspotlight.com, Punch of 28th November, 2013, Daily Newswatch of 29th November, 2013, The Nation News Paper of 11th December, 2013 and so many others.
It is a well known fact that Kasim Muhammad kind of arrangement of imposing his puppets cum loyalists cannot hold water; as such we are calling your Excellency to do the NEEDFUL without further delay from the part of the Government.
For the avoidance of doubt and ambiguity, the National body of the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) is an association blanketed in peace, unity and tranquillity since the creation of Nasarawa State in 1996 with Comrade, Honourable, Barrister Innocent Lagi (The Incumbent State Commissioner of Justice) as its first President from the University of Jos, until the emergence of Kasim Muhammed Kasim as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Matters.
In the history of Students associations in Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large, the Government has never imposed any group of puppets as Student leaders or is the Government of the day interested in the divide and rule strategy as the ONLY means of securing the 2015 ticket.
In a statement issued in Lafia on Thursday 28th November, 2013 on behalf of the outgoing National Executives of the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) by its National Vice President, Comrade Lucky Yargwa of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, warned the Government, police and other security agencies not to provide cover for Kasim’s and his co-traveller to engage in any illegality, saying their role must be to ensure the unity in the Youths and Students movement in the State.
Read in part; “The attention of the outgoing past EXCOS of the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) has been drawn to some group of unknown students who are parading themselves as the EXCOS of this Association without convention that was held to elect this National EXCOS as provided by the NASSA constitution by virtue of section 23 and section 33 of the said constitution to pilot the affairs of the Association.
On Monday 7th October, 2013 a Mini-convention was held at Nasarawa State Polytechnic Lafia and the following persons emerged as the caretaker Transition Committee (CTC)
Nasir Abdullahi-  CTC Chairman, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
Agidi onesimus- Public Relations Officer, University of Agriculture, Makurdi
Usman Ahmed Umme, Secretary General, Federal Poly Bauchi
Musa Aliyu  Oseh- Director of Sport, University of Jos
Abdulrazak G. Yusuf, Director Travel and Exchange, A.T.B.U, Bauchi
Talatu Ali- Treasurer, C.O.E Akwanga, Nasarawa State
Yusuf Yahuza- Financial Secretary, University of Abuja
James Isah Engah- Assistant Secretary General, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria
Isa Maikasuwa- Vice President, Nasarawa State University Keffi
Umar Kasim also emerged as the senate president, and Akolo David as the Clark of the house to handle the Association before a National Convention. The outgoing EXCOS supervised the Mini-convention which meets up all the democratic process and we submitted the names of these elected persons to the appropriate authority for recognition without any compliant by any student or group of students”.
“We want to also appeal to Nasarawa State Government to call Kasim Muhammad, the special Assistant to the Governor on student matters to order and also to redress his actions and utterances which are divisive to the student and also has polarize the people of state.
He must be cautious and dignified in his utterances, actions and falseful publications of the Association and apologize to the students for his criminal act.
Finally, we wish to appeal to NASSITES to remains steadfast and be loyal to Comrade Nasiru Abdullahi’s Excos, the great constitution of this Association and Nasarawa State Government. And also to avoid any acts that could derail our NASSA and Nasarawa State”.
It is laughable, preposterous and incongruous to realize that Kasim Muhammad, the Special Assistant on Student Matters, Mr. Philip T. Shekwo, the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Higher Education are using all means available, including intimidation, to impose Friday Chorio and cohorts as the leaders of the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) as another way to further their political ambitions.
On a final note Your Excellency Sir, we want to know where you belong, before we take further action on the State of Nasarawa State.
Thank you.
God Bless Nasarawa State and Nigeria.
