STF Foils Attack On Adamawa, Gombe Travellers In Plateau

stfThe Plateau State Special Task Force (STF) maintaining peace in the state has said the passengers of the intercepted buses of Adamawa Sunshine and Gombe Line were rescued on Wednesday evening at villages of Laite and Kara of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau state.

The STF Media and Information officer, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, who gave the update of the incident, said the travellers were found in peace and have since been put into another vehicle to convey them to their respective destinations.

Iweha said, “all the passengers were unharmed except for the driver that was injured and have since been rushed to hospital and the two buses were confirmed burnt by the perpetrators.”

In a related development Captain Iweha , said 11 suspected Berom youths alleged to have been terrorising  Bisichi Community with gun shots were arrested in recent past, adding that the arrested youths were stubborn even when the Commander and other men of the STF were in Bischi villages.

For avoidance of further occurrence Iweha explained that “more checks points have since been stationed on the road because Berom youths are blocking the road and attacking people.”

The captain however said the STF has restored calmness in the area.

Recalled that on Wednesday buses with full passengers belonging to Adamawa sunshine and  Gombe line, as well as a delivery car of Alison bread were intercepted by suspected youths.
