State Assembly: Tribunal Adjourns To Wednesday To Entertain LP Re-admission In Cirdum Nanbol Of APC

The National Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal on Monday adjourned sitting to Wednesday the 19th July ,2023 for indefinite hearing and taking of witnesses.
The All Progressives Congress, (APC), candidate for Plateau State House of Assembly,Hon .Cirdum Nanbol Josiah challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Hon.Rimvyat Nanbol and his party, PDP including Daniel Nanbol-Listic of Labour Party have been adjourned to the 19th Day of July 2023 for the continuation of the hearing and taking of witnesses.
The petitioner’s counsel Jim Gotom, Esq, told the tribunal that the matter was adjourned for hearing on an application filed by the petitioners.
He explained further that the petitioner’s counsel was served this morning at about 9 am by the 1st respondent with a written address in opposition to their own petition.
However, Gotom stressed that the 1st respondent’s written address has raised a lot of substantial issues which is going to affect them or prejudice their application and the petitioners are asking for an adjournment to reply to the written address of the first respondent.
W.A. Olajide of the first respondent couldn’t oppose the adjournment because he said it is within the time frame of 7 days. meanwhile, the 2nd respondent said he left everything at the tribunal’s discretion.
The petitioners, APC is challenging PDP and LP and their candidates, they two parties petitioned labour party for responding out of time because they brought an application to the tribunal seeking for extension of time to join the petitioner’s case.
According to him, both the petitioners and the 2nd respondent opposed and refused to the extension of time sought by the Labour Party for filling out time and the tribunal proceeded to stroke out the LP, but to us as the petitioners striking it out might be detrimental and injurious to us so we pleaded with the tribunal to allow LP to be a party to the petitioners.
He stated that if the judgment is obtained it won’t be banding on them and if we win at the tribunal they would benefit from our hard work.
Jim Gotom reiterated that for the interest of Justice after we file an application seeking for reversal order to readmit the dismissal of LP into the tribunal and PDP had filed a counter application with INEC this morning so we can’t proceeds and it shall be heard on Wednesday ..
