The Stakeholders and Executives of the All Progressives Congress,(APC) in Yelwa-Shendam Area of Plateau State have been decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the ex-LGA party chairman Shendam’s resignation from the party.
The APC Exco disclosed that they have resigned from the APC due to crises and illegal suspension of members of the officials.
Resignations and denouncement of membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by Halilu Ibrahim the Chairman letter was forwarded to the LGA Chairman and copied to the State Chairman Hon.Rufus Bature .
Yelwa-Shendam Federal WARD Chairman, Hon.Halilu Ibrahim said that the All Progressive Congress (A.P.C) is the house built and enjoyed its serenity for the past eight years when things were done appropriately by the constitutional provisions of the party.
However, the aftermaths of the last elections which are supposed to be a period of healing have been characterized by intimidation, accusations, and the purported expulsion of members, some of which are exposed APC.
Therefore we followed all means but all proved abortive, In line with this, we are hereby tendering our resignations from the ward to LGA executives of the party and denounced our membership of the All Progressives Congress.
Attached are the lists of the resigned excos both L.G.A and ward level. Also attached is a list of all stakeholders who also denounced membership of the party.
The Exco and stakeholders revealed that the exercise of political harassment and intimidation of the officials prompted them to abandon the party to celebrate PDP as the former governor Simon Lalong remained silent when the crises started leading them to exit.
We can’t remain in a party that would continue to create acrimony between the members instead of bringing everyone on board they are busy frustrating the officials, he explained.
The APC loyal members in Yelwa-Shendam have denounced membership by dumping the party to defect as the deepening crises linger on.
Hon . Ibrahim expressed disappointment with the treatment the officials are undergoing after the former governor lost the senatorial seat of Plateau South and reclaimed his mandate at the Appeal Court judgment some of us are been published for that.
