Speaker Dogara Congratulates New Emir Of Katagum

• Calls on new monarch to build on legacies of his father

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has congratulated Alhaji Baba Umar Farouk on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers as the 12th Emir of Katagum.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan, the Speaker described the new Emir as an accomplished technocrat and seasoned administrator, who has what it takes to provide good leadership, as well as  preserve and uphold the sanctity of the highly revered throne and the traditional institution in general.

” With your wealth of experience as a retired Federal Permanent Secretary and a District Head, I am confident that you will live up to expectations and build on the legacies of your father , anchored on humility, modesty and sacrifice for the well being of his subjects “.

While calling on the Emir to see his appointment as a rare opportunity to serve, Dogara prayed God to guide the new royal father and  bless his reign with peace, stability and prosperity.
