Senator  Onawo  Pays Condolence  Visit  To Aren   Eggon,Akwashiki’s Family

The Senator representing Nasarawa South senatorial zone, Distinguished Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, and a leading Gubernatorial aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nasarawa State, on Tuesday, paid a condolence visit to the Aren Eggon, His Royal Highness Justice Ahmed Ubangari (Rtd).

The visit was to commiserate with the traditional ruler and the entire Eggon Nation over the passing of his colleague , Senator Godiya Akwashiki, representing Nasarawa North.

He similarly condole Eggon Nation over the new year carnival which turns into  tragic death of young Eggon sons who lost their lives in a truck

While receiving the senator, the Aren Eggon,retired Chief Judge of the State ,Justice Alaku Ubangari  thanked him for identifying with the Eggon people during this period of grief and described the visit as a show of compassion and solidarity.

He described the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki as a great son of Eggon land whose contributions to the development of Nasarawa State and the nation at large would remain indelible.

Senator Onawo, accompanied by members of his entourage, also visited the residence of his former colleague in the 10th National Assembly, late Senator Godiya Akwashiki, where he expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family over the irreparable loss.

Speaking during the visit, Senator Onawo said he came personally to condole with the family ahead of an official delegation from the Senate. He explained that the National Assembly is currently on recess and is expected to resume on January 27, after which the Senate President would constitute a committee to attend a condolence conference on behalf of the Senate.

This was contained in a statement made available to pressmen by the Personal Assistant to Senator Onawo Kasimu Dauda Rabiu on New Media and Strategic communications.

He further disclosed that he had already contacted some senators concerning the burial of the late Senator Akwashiki, scheduled to hold on Saturday, January 17, 2026, Insha’Allah.

Adding that they would be in attendance.

Responding on behalf of the family, the wife of the late senator expressed appreciation to Senator Onawo and his entourage for the condolence visit and their support during this difficult time.

Special prayers were offered for the souls of late Senator Godiya Akwashiki and the departed youths to rest in perfect peace.
