As part of activities marking his 68 birthday celebrations, representative of the Benue North-East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Barnabas Gemade OFR yesterday staged a constituency briefing at his Gboko residence where he showered members of his constituency and several party faithful with various cash gifts.
Senator Gemade while briefing constituent-members on his score-card in the present 8th Senate, urged them to be steadfast with the present APC led Federal government as he was not resting on his oars to ensure that his Tiv kinsmen are appointed into the various Federal Boards as well as making efforts for the young segments to feature prominently into Federal employment slots; efforts which has so far started yielding positively with the recent appointments of Major General India Garba and Rev Dr Tor Ujah as Board Chairman NIMASA and Executive Secretary NCPC respectively.
The Nom Iyange U Tiv called on Tiv people to be prayerful and hopeful as a new Tor Tiv after their own hearts would soon be unveiled.
While reeling our his excellent score- card and efforts at the Senate to include sponsorship of prolific Bills, social empowerment programmes , halting Fulani invasion on Benue soils particularly, provision of health facilities , potable water, electricity, education and other infrastructure for the people, the Senator called on them to keep faith as more of such development drives were in the offing for their sole benefit.
