How Senator Ali Ndume Slapped Borno Lawmaker, Habu Aji, As Borno Assembly Suspends Legislative Activities For One Month In Solidarity
The Borno State House of Assembly has suspended its activities for a period of one month, this is in solidarity with one of its members, Hon. Habu Dala Aji who it was alleged was slapped by Senator Ali Ndume at a political meeting in Borno State.
In a statement signed by Hon. Abdulkareem Lawan the Honourable Speaker, Borno State House of Assembly, he said; “Pending the outcome of a resolution passed in respect on an attack on its members, the speaker of the house Abdkareem Lawal in a press statement issued to pressmen in Maiduguri that a member representing Damboa.”
Stating further the Speaker said; “Hon. Habu Dala aji was slapped by Senator Ali Ndume In his residency when he was trying to settle a misunderstanding between his electorate from Damboa, and in the same vein some hoodlums attacked and beat up hon member Mohammed Saleh Baga into a state of a comma and were hospitalized for 3 months.”
The house resolved that:
1) All sponsors and those who attacked Saleh Banga should be arrested and arraigned. Before a court of law by security agencies,
2) The inspector general of police (IGP) and Senate president are to investigate the action of Senator Ndume’s slapping and humiliation of Hon. Habu Dala Aji,
3) The Kwaya-Kusar local council secretary should be relieved of her position as Secretary to the Local Government
4) The Honourable House also resolved to suspend legislative activities for 1 month pending the outcome of the resolution passed.
Meanwhile, universalreporters247.com findings revealed that Senator Ali Ndume was invited to a meeting by Hon. Habu Dala Aji at his house, an invitation which Senator Ndume refused owing to the fact that he got information that the said Dala Aji wanted to insult him at the meeting having invited women and youths of his constituency to his house.
When Habu Aji discovered that Ndume refused to honour the meeting, he and his political thugs as well the women and youths the constituency went to Senator Ali Ndume’s house, on getting to Ali Ndume’s residence an alleged political thug to Habu Dala Aji by name Daku allegedly began to rain abuses on Senator Ndume, an action which this medium gathered prompted Ali Ndume to raise his hand to slap Habu Aji’s boy Daku but Habu Aji blocked it and the slap landed on Habu’s face.
Meanwhile, a source close to Ndume has alleged that Habu Dala Aji has embezzled about N100 million given to him for a housing project for his Damboa constituency, this it was gathered maybe among the things that made Ndume refused to attend the political meeting.
