Senate Begins Probe Of Inspector General Of Police, Ibrahim Idris, Over Alleged Corrupt Practices And Misconduct

The Senate has begun the probe into an allegation of corrupt practices and professional misconduct against the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

The Senator representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Senator Isa Misau, and today at the Senate Plenary asked the Senate to probe the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, over an alleged corrupt practices and professional misconduct.

According to Misau, he asked the Senate to set up an ad hoc committee that will investigate allegations he raised against Idris, as he added that he will provide documentary evidence to support his claims before the panel.

Meanwhile, while raising a point of order at the Plenary on Wednesday, Misau also accused Idris of an alleged “secret” marriage to a serving policewoman which he said is against the public service rule.

It would be recalled that Misau had recently accused the IGP of collecting about N120 billion annually from corporate bodies and very important persons which he said is for security services, an accusation which he today repeated again.
