The Publicity, Programme and Documentation of the Transition Planning Committee in Plateau state stated the government position Thursday while briefing Journalists on the state of affairs so far.
The spokesperson of the Committee and Commissioner for Tourism and Culture Pastor Yiljap Abraham said Various sub-committees have been working in an atmosphere of cordial and mutual respect irrespective of party differences.
He said the state government is mindful of the global security challenges and is working in partnership with security apparatus and citizens of the state to contain the menace.
He stressed that government has completed arrangement to ensure massive movement of 7,800 security personnel to patrol and man check points around the city of Jos to forestall any break down of law and order.
He explain that the twenty-two member committee made up of 12 members each from the outgoing and the incoming administration has a connecting spirit that the Plateau project is paramount and has equal representations in the sub-committees except the Swearing in and oath taken committee.
Yilap announced that the Transition Programme will commence Friday 22nd of May with a Juma’at Prayers at the Jos Central Mosque while the Transition Thanks given service will hold on Sunday 24th at the Government House chapel, Rayfield Jos.
Adding that the Governor of the state will use Monday 25th through Wednesday the 27th of May to commissions some projects in the state followed by a state Banquet Friday Night.
