The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has announced the dissolution of its Adamawa State Working Committee. In its place, a 90-day Caretaker Committee has been appointed to manage and reorganize the party’s affairs in the state.
This decision was disclosed in an official statement signed by Olu Agunloye, the party’s National Secretary, following a comprehensive review of recent developments within the Adamawa State Chapter.
According to the statement, the newly constituted Caretaker Committee has been tasked with:
Reorganizing the party’s structure in the state,
Mobilizing new members, and
Ensuring effective coordination of party activities ahead of future elections.
The committee is required to submit monthly progress reports to both the National Vice Chairman (North East) and the National Chairman of the party.
The Caretaker Committee will be led by Mr. Paul Ahundana, who assumes the role of Acting State Chairman. He will be supported by Mohammed Abdulrahman as Acting State Secretary. Other members of the committee include:
Salihu Aliyu Deputy Chairman,
Zion Maina Organising Secretary,
Alhaji Saidu Mohammed Treasurer,
Malia Sanweri Financial Secretary

The NWC clarified that the committee’s mandate will last for 90 days from the date of its appointment or until further directives are issued.
Agunloye congratulated the newly appointed officials and urged them to familiarize themselves with the party’s constitution, while upholding the SDP’s core values of good governance and social justice, which he described as the foundation of the party.
Official notification of the committee’s constitution has been sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The Social Democratic Party’s National Secretariat is located at No. 17 Nairobi Street, Off Parakou Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.
