Saturday March 9th Polls: SDP Reaffirms Okey Ezeh As Sole Gubernatorial Candidate

Following the awash online/news publications in the state by different media houses that the law court has nullified the candidacy of Social Democratic Party, SDP, Governorship Candidate, in Imo State, Mazi Sir.Okey Ezeh.

The leadership of the Party led by the State Party Chairman, Chief Ogbuefi Val  Amafili, last Thursday, March 7th 2019,disclosed to newsmen in the state, that Okey Ezeh is still their solely candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in  the Imo State.

This was made known during a press conference held at Jesus Christ Never Fails Arena, New Owerri Area.

Speaking at the briefing, Sir.Okey Ezeh, said that there was a litigation against him by one Mr. Casmire Anyanwu, challenging the party.

According to Mazi Ezeh, he said his ticket  is still intact as the Imo SDP guber standard bearer and maintained that the court does not have the right to determine the candidacy of any party.

He further noted that, the publication on his own candidacy ahead of the polls is a mere distraction to hinder his unstoppable match to Douglas House, come May 29th 2019.

“Time has come for Imolites to elect a man of character, integrity and a man with every capacity to transform the state from bad governance to good governance”, he added.

Mazi Ezeh, further linked his leadership journey to government house to the biblical story of Jesus Christ on his triumphant entering to Jerusalem which brought joy and happiness to the people.

According to the SDP candidate for governorship, “Imo State has been in wilderness and desert over forty years lack of experienced person apart from Late Dee Sam Mbakwe who offered good governance.

Concluding he said that, his government must ensure youth employment, wealth creation saying Imo State resources needs to be tailored to the needs of the masses.

“Imo State does not need the Federal Govt. allocation to survive but diversification of economy”, he asserted.
