The purported Local Government Election ostensibly going on in Rivers State today is a flagrant disobedient of an ORDER by a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt that status quo be maintained.
Similarly, by the provisions of the law establishing the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, an Election Petition Tribunal MUST be inaugurated before election MUST hold.
More puzzling, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has clearly announced that Voters Register which MUST be applied for, certified and released by INEC to RSIEC has not been released to the State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, for the conduct of the purported Local Government Election.
Therefore, what is the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, using to conduct the illegal election said to be going on in Rivers State today? Are they using the All Progressives Congress, APC Membership Register, pieces of papers or faked INEC Voters Register?
We therefore, appeal to our teeming supporters and Rivers people to remain calm in the face of this illegality.
Accordingly, the so-called Local Government Election purportedly going on in Rivers State is a waste of Tax Payers money, when Civil Servants and Pensioners are being owed for months.
The entire exercise going on today in Rivers State is illegal, an effort in futility and would not STAND.
