Rice farmers Association of Nigeria RIFAN Jigawa state chapter has dragged 300 Rice farmers to court for their inability to pay back the Rice loan they collected from the association.
The chairman of the association Adamu Haruna Maigoro Hadejia who confirmed the incident also explained further that some farmers have started to refund their loans.
The chairman said the Defaulters who were threatened by court action are now paying their loan through the court.
He added that the association has shortlisted another five hundred names of farmers who failed to refund their loan.
He stated that this year over 1887 farmers received farming inputs such as seeds and fertilizers as well as agrochemicals and spraying machines.
The chairman said each and every farmer who registered with RIFAN in the state has been given a loan.
