Revealed: Untold Story About  the Killing of 11 Persons In Riyom Plateau By Gunmen

11 Persons were killed in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State in on Tuesday night may have happened and become a past action, even as they have been giving mass burial on Thursday, information available to this medium indicates that the issue that led to the attack may have been nipped in the bud if necessary were taken.

As learnt by this medium, there was an alleged secret meeting held between Governor Simon Bako Lalong and the herders who had written letter of notice to some communities in Riyom, Barkin Ladi of their plan to launch an attack if government fails to compensate them.

It was gathered that herders’ meeting with Governor was barely few days before the governor jet out of the state to London with some traditional rulers in the state as well as some members of the State House of Assembly.

Universalreporters247.com learnt that made the journey together with the Governor to London include His Royal Highness ,the Gbong Gwom Jos ,Da Jacob Gyang Buba ,as  well as others selected traditional rulers  and some House of Assembly Members .

The Commander who mobilized his men to the scene of the attack near Gako village in Rim district on receipt of the news, this medium gathered that while speaking through the spokesperson of the Force, Capt. Umar Adams was upset about the renewed attacks.

The STF Commander, who spent the night leading a search of the attackers around the affected community, directed a special condoning of the area.

“He has equally directed an air raid of the bushes as well as a deployment of our Special Forces to the community to ensure that the culprits are tracked,” he said.

A source in the community confirmed in a telephone interview that the STF Commander spent the night in the area along with some top officers of the Force.

He was however not sure what time the team arrived.

The attack which occurred in the late hours of Tuesday, near Rim, reportedly left 11 persons dead and others injured.

The victims who were returning from the Makera market on a Golf-3 car were reportedly ambushed by the assailants while offloading at Diyan junction near Gako village.

The assailants who were riding in a vectra car, a source said had trailed the victims from the Rim junction in Makera village where a military checkpoint is located.

It was however not clear who was responsible for the attack, although a survivor claims he saw the attackers wearing army uniform.

The STF Spokesperson, Capt. Umar Adams who confirmed the incident could not issue details as according to him, the situation was still being assessed.

According to him, the Task Force personnel in the LGA were instantly mobilized to the scene on receipt of the information.

“By the time our troops arrive the scene, the attackers had fled but we are still doing our ground work to see if we can trace and apprehend them,” he said.
