Revealed: The Cabal That Calls The Shots In The Nigeria Police Force And Influences The IGP

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris Kpotum’s administration has been operating via four most influential cabal members, who reportedly determine the direction of affairs in the force as well as the fate of officers of the Nigeria Police Force across Nigeria, AljazirahNigeria can authoritatively reveal.

According to the investigations, the cabal members are acting Commissioner of Police, (CP) Umar Garba Baba, popularly known as “small IGP”, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP) Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, as well as Assistant Superintendent of Police, (ASP) Abdulkardi Aminu and civilian lady simply known as Miss Nkem who goes by the slogan ‘madam fit it all’.

Informed senior police sources including one close to an ally to the IGP and a former Speaker of the House of Representatives confided in our correspondent that the aforementioned senior officers can influence any of IGP’s decisions either negatively or positively.

It was learnt further that “small IGP”, is more influential than some of the force management team which comprises the Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGPs).

He is the officer in charge of the Police Monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Despite the fact that he is an acting CP and low in ranking to the DIGPs, ‘he has veto power to withdraw any file or transfer any officer from one office to another through whatever advice he gives the IGP,’ the source said.

Before his own appointment as Principal Staff Officer (PSO 1) to the IGP, Bakori, a Katsina State born cop worked as Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) in charge of Administration in Compol Mopol office, Force Headquarters, and was later posted to Squadron 22, Akure in Ondo State as commanding officer.

He was said to have helped IGP to facilitate the monthly meeting of heads of squadron, which drew him closer to the IGP.

He used that influence to successfully facilitate the removal the former PSO, acting CP Hafiz Inuwa, it was further learnt.

On the other hand, ASP Abdulkardi Aminu, a Nupe (Niger State) born officer was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 2010. He was at the Works department of the Force Headquarters before his appointment as the Chief Protocol Officer to IGP.

Credible senior police sources told AljazirahNigeria that he had ‘single-handedly’ influenced posting of more than 800 officers of different ranks. It was exclusively gathered that he can influence any approval of anything from IGP, if one could find a way into his heart.

According to the reliable source, “he influenced signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of police private partnership project with a firm, which belongs to an elder brother to one of the former governors of Niger State in February 6, 2017”.

AljazirahNigeria could not independently verify this.

It is said that the third power broker in the police force is Miss Nkem known as ‘madam fit it all’, and is an Igala born Kogi state indigene. She is reportedly the most powerful lady among all the IGP’s close allies.

Although, she is not a police officer, it is noted that she ‘reportedly resumes at force headquarters on a daily basis.’

“She gets standing ovation and compliments anytime she visits the compound that houses the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) and IGP Response Team (IRT) in Abuja. She wields so much power as to influence some aspects of cases being investigated by detectives,” a source said.

She is also believed to have the support of the top cop as well as many senior officers whom she reportedly single-handedly influenced their postings to “juicy” places.

“If you see her, you have seen the IGP. She has used her current position to reinstate many dismissed officers of Igala descent”, a reliable senior police officer alleged.

AljazirahNigeria could not reach directly to the IGP.

Also efforts to get the Police Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood (CSP) to react to the report proved abortive as he did not pick several calls placed across to him.

He also did not respond to a subsequent text message sent to him requesting reaction.

About 72 hours after the message was sent, he is yet to respond but the medium will publish his reaction whenever it receives such
