The recent visit of Tertiary Education Trust Fund to the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia may foist the visitor to the institution which was enmeshed in a financial  mess by the sacked management under the headship of the then Rector, Dr. Silas Gyar to release the whitepaper

The present revelation would ignite tension as TETFUND demanded the refund of unspent money or money wrongly spend without detail account.

It was authoritatively gathered that the issue of one of the staff who was to go for further studies in the United Kingdom ended up in an India institution with fewer expenses.

Feelers maintained that instead of giving the beneficiary the sum of N30m to study at U.K but were given N17m to study in India.

Other misgivings under NasPoly Desk Officer were the mandatory deduction of 5% in recent times and were review downward as 2% was deducted by the institution.

An impeccable source said the Polytechnic under Gyar, an extension of the present acting Rector Augustine Ali Gabu was in a total mess in the utilization of TETFUND funds under training and projects.

It would be recalled that the former TETFUND Desk officer was accused of diverting N6m.

It was also established that the former Rector was selective in dealing with some of the staff that were found either in the embezzlement of funds but were allowed to go scot free while treated as second-class citizens.

For barely two years of diverting chunk amount of money generated from the IGR, it was unveiled that some of the female staff and a daughter to one of the traditional ruler from Nasarawa South was just handed over her suspension letter.

The Acting Rector, Augustine Ali Gabu could not be reached for comment as he did not pick his call as at press time.
