The management of the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia has inaugurated a seven man committee on pension and gratuity,the rector,Dr1.Silas Gyar tasked the committee to be diligent in carrying out the responsibility bestowed on them.
Dr.Gyar gave the disclosure while inaugurating the committee at his office, the headship of the Polytechnic says the committee inaugurated would give hope to staff of the institution.
He also tasked the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic to make tangible contributions, adding that the pension and gratuity committee is the only way and means to secure a better future for staff after retirement.
The rector averred that the autonomy granted the school by the state government comes with a lots of responsibility.

The committee are given five weeks to carry out their assignment with term 9f reference as follows
The committee should suggest modalities for contribution
The facilities use in contributing
To work out a feasible pension scheme
As well to facilitate and create an understanding and link between stakeholders within the state government to ensure a result oriented committee
Dr.Silas Gyar assured the committee that proper support would be accorded to the committee by the school management for them to succeed.
The chairman of the committee, William Ebuka appreciate the rector for finding them worthy to serve in that capacity, as he assured the school management that the team would not disappoint them in the discharge of their responsibility.
