Ranches In Nasarawa State Would End Herders/Farmers Clash But Should Be Across Senatorial District-APGA Chairman

Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance Nasarawa State has applauded governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura for approving the establishment of ranches in the state.

Hon.Musa Saidu gave the disclosure in an interview with Journalists in the State, saying cattle ranches would end the lingering herders/farmers conflict.

He frowns at the traditional method of rearing as responsible for most of the crisis between herdsmen and farmers in the state.

Musa Saidu however urged the State government not to politicized the security of lives and properties.

The State Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance condemned the establishment of all the proposed sites of ranches in one senatorial district of the state.

Saying there is the need for the spreading of the proposed cattle ranches in each of the Zone.

“Rearing of cows is a private business, so the government should make sure that proper consultation is carryout in deciding the sites for the ranches to avoid crisis.

“our ancestral lands should not be taken forcefully for the purpose of ranches to avoid further skirmishes in the future”.

“Our state is already going through a lot of security challenges, so the government should do everything possible to avoid harsh decision that would create further problem, ” he added.

It would be recalled that the governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has approved the establishment of ranches in seven communities which includes; Awe, Keana, Doma, Assakio,Obi and amongst others.
