The Bauchi State Governor, Muhammad Abubakar, has said the lessons learnt from the Qur’an is impacting positively on the people, most especially the youths.
The Governor, represented by the permanent secretary in the State ministry of religious affairs, Muhammad Auwal, said: “the lessons learnt from Qur’an recitation is impacting positively, because if not for its impact the spite of drug abuses will have triple among the youths.”
Abubakar also called on parents to be of good observance of the attitude and behaviours of the children.
He donated the sum N1 million to support the competition in preparation for the forth coming national competition in Katsina State.
The Plateau State commissioner of local government and chieftaincy affairs, Hon. Dayyabu Garga, said there is need for the spreading of Qur’an recitation of the Qur’an.
He said Qur’an recitation will help in maintaining peace and peaceful living in Nigeria.
Harped on the need for peaceful conduct of local government elections by the people of the state.
“Everybody on board security is every body’s business,” he added.
Commissioner Garga, called on the people and journalists to aid security by giving out vital information that will help curb the activities of criminals and arms stocking.
At the end of the event, Anas Thahir, became the overall winner having scored 87 points, and is to represent Plateau State, at the annual national competition schedule for Katsina State.
The Director General of Nigeria Television Authority, Malam Yakubu Ibn Muhammad, urged youths to be of good upbringing to their parents.
He said there is need for parents, particularly Muslims to inculcate in their children the knowledge of the Qur’an.
Malam Muhammad, stated this over the weekend in Jos, at the closing ceremony of the 31st Annual Qur’an competition Plateau State chapter.
Represented by, Zonal director NTA Jos network center, Malam Nurrudeed Adesuna Idris, the DG, said: “The importance of Qur’an cannot be over emphasis.”
He urged parents to encourage children and wards to learn and interpret the Quran.
