Qur’an Competition: Plateau Emerged Winner In Female Category By Yakubu Busari, Jos‬

The Plateau State Coordinator of the National Qur’an Recitation Competition (NQRC), Sheikh Mukhtar Adam, has called on the Muslims to always abide by the true teachings of the Qur’an describing it at “true constitution,” for the Muslims.
“The Qur’an is a constitution guiding the affairs of Muslims, it is the principles in which Allah has enjoined mankind to be good,” Adam added.
Sheikh Mukhtar said this on Wednesday  at the Jos central Mosque, during a formal presentation of awards to the State contingents, won at the concluded National Competition held penultimate weeks in Edo State
The coordinator stated that the State has made another record of history in the competition, having done it severally in the male category, “know we have made it in the women category.”
He said: “For the fact that Ms.Khadija Tanimu, has won the overall winner of the female category, for the first time ever in the record of the state, was indeed worthy of being grateful to Allah.”
According to him Ustaz Muhammad Thahir Musa, also   came third, in Male category of the competition, while other eight (8), contenders, that represented the state in different categories, emerged as second and fourth positions, “and that have make Plateau becoming the overall winner of prizes.”
He said besides the Lexus jeep which was giving to Khadija, Edo State Governor Comrade Adams Oshomole has pledged a donation of a Toyota Car, while Vice President Namadi Sambo has also donated the cash sum of N100,000, to her.
In her acceptance speech at the event the winner of the 29th edition of the competition Ms. Khadija Tanimu who is also Student of Geography at the Gombe State University, expressed gratification to Allah.
She said: “I am first and foremost thanking Allah for his favour on to me, and for making me to achieved the victory, am also appreciable and grateful to my teachers and importantly my parents.
“The Qur’an is a book that one should accord priority to its learning, recitation and memorization as well, before any other knowledge. I am therefore, urging all Muslim youths to strive hard and learn it memorization,” she added.
Our correspondent gathered that with Khadija’s victory, it is like that she will hoist Nigeria’s flag in either   Libya or Malaysia for the female category of the competition at international level.
The event featured presentation of a Lexus jeep 300 series, and the sum of N800,000 to Khadija being prize by the Local Organizing Committee, and other prizes to other contingents of the state.
