Public School In Doma To Commence Morning And Afternoon Classes Due To Acute Shortage Of Classrooms

The principal of Doma North Secondary School, Doma piqued over lack of classrooms following the wiping out of entire structures by a rainstorm which occurred on Tuesday morning in Doma, the headquarter of Doma.

He said the affected school is looking forward to introduce morning and afternoon classroom.

The Principal in an exclusive interview said that would be the only solution to nip the situation by the bud.

He expressed satisfaction that the incident happened in night time, adding that no casualty was recorded in the destruction caused the school by rainstorm.

“The situation would have been worst with casualty if it happens in the day time or during school hours”.

Calling on the concerned authorities in the education sector to take drastic measure to curb the gory situation.

At the time of filing this report the structures of GSS Doma North were completely destroyed if not the three classroom block built by the member Federal House of  Representatives representing Awe, Doma, Keana Federal constituency, Hon.Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo.

Other schools affected are GSS Doma, Government College, Doma.

Other affected public schools are Islamiya Primary school, as well St.John Bosco College which is a private schools, others are  Foundation Secondary school and many others

The State Commissioner of education, Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu, when contacted decline comment on the destruction caused by rainstorm.

Also the Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Danazumi Mohammed could not be reached as at press as security men attached to the Chairman prevented our reporter seeing the Chairman to comment on what the board is doing to repair primary schools affected.

The Chairman of Doma Local Government in an interview commensurate with the people of Doma over the death of one person that was killed during the rainstorm at Tudun Alamara.

Saying necessary steps are taking to ensure that victims are been assisted calling on the Federal government, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura and the affluent in the society to assist.

As at press time, it was gathered that over N4million was donated to victims.

But all efforts to meet with members of the Committee constituted by His Royal Highness, the Andoma of Doma, Alh Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah for comment as it was revealed that the monarch traveled out of the town.
