Prosecute Former Governor Jonah Jang, Others Now Over 2008 Jos Crisis –Hausa community Tells Lalong

The Hausa and Fulani communities in Jos North Local Government Area, of Plateau State, have called for the immediate prosecution of former Governor Jonah David Jang.
The President of the Jasawa Community Development Association (JCDA), Shehu Ibrahim Masalla, who spoke on behalf the people called on Lalong’s government to effect the process, he made this known in a speech he gave at the 9th commemorative prayer, over the 2008 Jos crisis.
He lamented that; “it is more important to reflect that besides lives, our properties worth billions of Naira was also lost to the mayhem.”
According to him, while the pasts are gone; the future is closing by and the desire to move forward is so tasking, whose quest requires trust and confidence building among all and sundry.
“Hence we reiterate our call for the prosecution of the culprits, starting from former Governor, Jonah Jang, and all other persons identified to have played one role or the other in the perpetration of the heinous acts, while also demanding for adequate compensation from both the Local, State and Federal Governments,” he said.
Masalla, said the Jos Hausa and Fulani, communities commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s concern on the Rohingya community in faraway Myanmar, where their Government and indeed international communities except few, are keeping watch with impunity, “simply remind us of our situations, it was factual that the greatest impunity was meted on us.”
He said members of his community, have continued to be stronger lovers and supporters of President Buhari, urging him to also rise above board to consider their plight.
“Similarly, we commend the Simon Lalong, administration of Plateau State, for its tireless efforts in seeing to the restoration of peace and confidence building among the people of the state, we call on its to do more until the lost glory of the State is restored,” he said.
Masalla, stressed that however, we are of great concerned over the slow pace of works on some roads within our communities, and in as much as they appreciate Governor Lalong, “we thought it will only be wise to speedily consider the plight pose on our community by the slow pace of work, at Anguwan Rogo-Angiwan Rimi, Yan-shanu- Dutse Uku, Newmarket, Bauda and Pump streets.”
He called for a peaceful conduct of local council elections in all of the 17 local government areas of Plateau state.
In response the state commission of information Malam Nazif Ahmad, their administration is of concerned to the yearnings and aspiration of the People.
He assured that Governor Lalong is determined to carry everybody that will bring development to Plateau State, adding that they will execute all projects as soon as resources are available.
