Profile Of Ten Plateau Indigenes That Will Be Honored With An Award By The University of Jos

The following distinguished Nigerians will bag the University of Jos award, they include, Hon Dr Simon Mwadkong PhD, Rt. Hon Mike Dapianlong, Sen Ibrahim N Mantu, Hon Timothy Golu, Hon Edward Pwajok, Hon Bitrus Kaze, Hon Dasuki Salisu Nakande, Hon Pius Hommen,Mr Stephen Longdiem,Hon Prince Vincent Bulus Venman, Rt Hon Titus Alams, Emmanuel Macham JP and many others set to be awarded by University of Jos, faculty of Natural Science Students.

 

Some respected Nigerians will be honoured with the prestigious award by the Faculty of Natural Science University of Jos, in a well-organized dinner and launching of a magazine, according to the Secretary Organising Committee, Comrade Strong Yusuf Mashat.

 

A Brief Review Of The Personalities Include:

 

Hon Dr. Simon Mwadkong PhD

 

He was a Lecturer in the University of Jos before venturing into politics and became Transition Committee Chairman of Riyom LGC and later became elected Chairman of the same LGC. He was elected Member House of Representative in the 7th Assembly Representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Abuja. Widely travel and friendly to many. Will be honoured with the prestigious award as a pillar of youths across Nigeria in recognition of his philanthropic gesture to the youths.

 

Sen Ibrahim N Mantu

 

The name is very familiar in the political scene both in plateau and Nigeria, one of the most Distinguished Senator to have emerged from Plateau State and clinched the position of the Deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic if Nigeria during the 6th Assembly. With uncountable achievements he single handedly executed during his two time in the National Assembly. He hails from Gindiri in Mangu LGA of Plateau State. A Democrat per excellence and respected Nigerian to be given an award as the pillar of Democracy in Nigeria A full magazine may never contain the achievement of Distinguish Sen Ibrahim Mantu.

 

Hon Edward Pwajok(SAN)

 

The Member Representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Abuja. Hon. Pwajok has written his name in gold across the length and breadth of Nigeria, having served as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Plateau State. He was also given the highest position of the Legal Profession in Nigeria, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). He is to be given an award as Pillar of Legal Profession in Nigeria

 

Hon Timothy Golu

 

He was a media Practitioner before joining politics and was elected Member Representing Kanke Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly during the 7th Assembly. In his quest for political pursuit he contested and won a seat to the National Assembly as Member Representing Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam Federal Constituency. A quintessential modern legislator who has written his name in gold. He is to be given an award as an Icon of Modern Democracy

 

Hon Dasuki Salisu Nakande

 

He hails from Jos North of Plateau State and had risen to become the Minister of State Information in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He became a household name in Nigeria political scene and a Media mogul in the communication industry, the proud owner of 93:3 FM Zinaria Hills Jos.

 

Rt Hon Titus Alams

 

Rt. Hon Alams was a lecturer with the Plateau State Polytechnic, before he joined politics and was elected in to the Plateau State House of Assembly Representing Bokkos Constituency. He later became speaker of the 7th Assembly and was highly instrumental in the developmental projects executed by the last administration. He is to be awarded the award of a Patriotic Leader in Plateau State

 

Rt. Hon Mike Diapianlong

 

The Former Member represented Quanpan South Constituency from 1999 to 2006 and became Speaker Plateau House of Assembly from 2006 to 2007. He is a Political Scientist and has attended many workshops both within and outside the country. He is to be honoured with an award of a Pragmatic Legislature

 

Hon Bitrus Kaze

 

The Former member represented Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, hje was a golden voice in the Green Chamber g not just his Constituency but Plateau State in general, during his sojourn in 6th and 7th Assembly. He will be given an award as  a True Democrat and will also serve as Chairman of the Occasion.

 

Hon Hommen Pius Kwaprep

 

He was an administrative staff of the Plateau State House of Assembly, where he worked with three successive Speakers as a Protocol Officer. He exited the Civil Service to became a business Mongol, CEO of Mc Hooms NIG.LTD  He will be given an award  as a Youth Mobilizer

 

Hon Prince Vincent Bulus Venman

 

He is a successful business man and a philanthropic leader coming from a humble background, he is also a member representing Langtang South Constituency in the 8th Assembly. He is to clinch an award for Quality Leadership and Youth Empowerment

 

Mr Stephen Longdiem

 

He is a young dedicated gentleman who has proven his capability in handling his professional responsibility, the journey started as a Civil Servant in the Plateau State House of Assembly as a driver.

He will be given an award as the Best Driver in Plateau

 

Emmanuel Macham Jp

 

A young and vibrant youth who has distinguished himself as crusader against injustice, fearless in fighting injustice. Emmanuel a ranking member of union, he was senior special assistance in the last administration; he has been a role model to the youths across the state and Nigeria in general. Widely traveled, has attended seminars within and outside the country and has vast experience in Public Administration. He will be given an award as a Youth Activist
