Primary School Pupil Shot Dead, Two Others Got Their Legs Broken As Fulani Cattle Rearers Attacked A Primary In Lantang North

A primary school pupil was today killed while two other pupils got their legs broken ans several others injured when group of Fulani Cattle rearers in Lantang North Local Government Area of Plateau State invaded a primary school in one of the village situated in the Local Government.

Universalreporters.info gathered that the attack on the Primary School followed a midnight raid as  the cattle owners couldn’t trace their animals. According to our reporter in Jos, some poachers rustled Cattle belonging to Fulani in a village called Yolawakka and when it was obvious that, the owners of the Cattle could not find their stolen Cattle  they decided to carry out an attack on public schools within Pilgani Village.

According to our reporter, the communities which were attacked by the Cattle rearers were Yakot and Tunkung and also the primary school located in, Yakot where one pupil was shot dead while two other pupils of the same school got their legs broken while many other sustained injuries.
However, as a result of the attack, it was gathered from a reliable source that the youths in Langtang North took on to the street to protest as they attacked Special Task Force, STF along Tunkus -Shendam way. The Youths in their numbers it was gathered engaged the STF as the disarmed them, killing one Ponfa Ishaya who is reported to be a member of committee on Cattle rustlers in the area.
Meanwhile speaking with Universalreporters, a spokesperson for the youth who pleaded anonymity said that early this morning there were sporadic gunshots around the Primary school which sent panic to the entire village. The spokesperson also said that shortly after the sound of gun shots, some Army men in uniform came into the Primary School, a situation which created chaos and thereby causing protest by school children who began to protest and soon after the STF men opened fire on the protesters which resulted in the dead of one pupil while two got their legs broken.
Meanwhile the while speaking to our reporter on phone youths explained that fresh violence erupted between the Tarok and the Fulanis in Zhimakwai , a village bordering Wase and Langtang.
However, the STF spokesman Capt Salisu Mustapha confirmed the incident on phone but said he is yet to get the full details of what happened there.
