… Describes Imo PDP-3-man-adhoc delegate lists as fake
The Spokesperson, Coalition for United Political Parties, CUPP, Hon.Barr. Ikenga-Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu,( Ojeozi), who is also seeking to be elected into the House of Representatives for Ideato South/Ideato North Federal Constituency under PDP in Imo State, was on Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 in Owerri, appealed to President Mohammadu Buhari and the Federal Govt. of Nigeria to release the detained leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, for the sake of equity, justice, and fairness.
While addressing some cross-section of media practitioners in Owerri,Barr. Ikenga-Imo said,” I think it was very sad seeing the judge overruled the bail application for Mazi Kanu, and negotiate for a better country ahead of the future of all Nigerians;
We lost a very great opportunity to kick start the political processes that will help amicable issues. Nnamdi Kanu did not jump bail as accused, rather he ran away for his life from the obvious assassination attempt by the Nigerian Soldiers, as alleged;
The Presidency should go to the drawing boards through round table discussions on the way forward for peace, security, justice and equity;
The leader of IPOB should be granted bail (Presidential Pardon) to show good intentions as such would led Nigerians to political negotiation;
There should be a proper negotiation between the Federal Govt. and the IPOB leader and the operators;
We should blame President Mohammadu Buhari for his inability to combat insecurity”, Ikenga-Imo meant.
He, therefore, appealed to President Buhari to use his constitutional powers to grant Kanu bail; so as to discontinue further court processes against the IPOB leader.
“If the president can grant pardon to those who killed, why not do the same to Nnamdi Kanu?”, he asked.
Ikeagwuonu however, appealed to the judiciary to look inward as a matter of peace, and ensure the release of Kanu, even as he frowned at the dwindling economy, insecurity, and unrest in the South Eastern States due to the arrest and detention of IPOB leader, that has led to the unending sit-at-home-order in this part of the country.
Meanwhile, the Imo PDP frontline aspirant for the 2023 Ideato North/South Reps. Seat, Hon. Ikeagwuonu, has faulted the supposed 3-man-delegate lists, which, according to him were described as a product of an aborted congress that was never held in Imo.
He expressively tagged the recent 3-man-delegate exercise held by Imo PDP as fake and added that those pushing the fake lists are working in alliance, synergy and in partnership with the leadership of Imo APC aimed at truncating the political aspiration of all the Imo PDP candidates for the 2023 general elections in the state.
“I am calling on the National Working Committee, NWC, of PDP to uphold the recent mandates issued by INEC as it concerns the fake declaration of the 3-man-delegate exercise as null and void”, Ikeagwuonu submitted.
“Some members of PDP led by the National Secretary, Sen.Samuel Anyanwu (SamDaddy) have perfected plan to remove Imo PDP from participating in the 2023 general polls;
“There was no election held. The PDP National Scribe, SamDaddy can not smuggle any list written at his Ikeduru home. PDP is owned by one single man;
Oluwale lists that were manufactured in somebody’s backyard at Ikeduru LGA of Imo State can never see the light of the day. Our National Party Chairman, Sen.Iyorchia Ayu, and all the national leaders of our party should not accept that fake result sheets. Those parading the fake lists are working in the interest of APC govt. in Imo;
Last time, they stole the result sheets. They have made a deal with APC to sink PDP in Imo so that PDP will not be on the ballot for the 2023 general elections;
If anyone wants to be Governor of Imo State, such person should go through due process, instead of making us lose everything”, Ikeagwuonu warned.
