The Nigerian Police Force has been commended by the Jigawa state government for its support and cooperation given to all security agencies in the state to ensure the peace and tranquility in the state.
The commendation was made by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali during a courtesy call to the Governor Badaru Abubakar at the government house in Dutse.
He explained that Jigawa state governor Badaru Abubakar has been supporting the security agencies in the state since his inception as governor of the state.
According to him, he was in the state as part of his familiarization tour of the 36 states of the federation.
While responding, Governor Badaru Abubakar said the Inspector General of Police has been proactive to ensure peace and security in the country.
He pointed out that the state government and people of the state are aware with the giant stride of police and other security agencies to overcome the current security challenges facing the country.
Badaru Abubakar therefore assured that the state government would continue to cooperate and support, security agencies to ensure the protection of lives and property of the people.
Also the Emir of Dutse, Dr. Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi urged the Nigeria Police Force to train and re-train its personnel to cope with the current security challenges in the country shortly after the inspector of police visit to his palace
He expressed satisfaction with the performance of the new Inspector General of Police to bring to an end the issue of banditry, and other related crimes in the country.
The Emir assured the Inspector General that the traditional institution’s will support his efforts to maintain law and order in Nigeria.
He explained further that IGP has noted that traditional institutions have a vital role to play in ensuring relative peace and security in Nigeria.
He told the inspector general that to post any police officers recruited to their state and local government of origin and that by doing so the security challenges would be addressed because indigenes know their Terrain.
